We are often asked where we got the name of Shoemaker & Hardt. About 20 years ago when we were making plans to open what we thought would be a little antique store with a coffee pot, we mulled over many different names that we might use. We finally decided to use our mother’s maiden names. So Jimmie Shoemaker and Eugenia Hardt became the namesakes of our little country store in Downtown Wylie.
